The Faculty of Design is the lead partner of an EU project in the field of Creative Europe. The MultisensoryArt project will run from October 2024 to December 2026.

The project involves artists and designers from 3 countries (Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia). The project is aimed at members of marginalized groups – blind and visually impaired individuals. During this time, we conducted 12 workshops for the blind and visually impaired, 5 exhibitions of products created in the workshops, and participated in several exhibitions across Slovenia as part of the traveling exhibition The Magic of Wood. In addition, we successfully held a sales exhibition of products by blind and visually impaired artists.

In Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia, we organized 6 exhibitions of sensory artworks adapted for the perception of the blind. The common thread of all activities was the inclusion of cultural heritage and a sustainable approach. We experimented with multisensory approaches as the artworks included a combination of sounds, scents, and tactile perceptions. With this project, we enable the blind to access visual culture presented in an innovative way.

The concluding event will be an outdoor exhibition at the Arboretum Volčji Potok. Additionally, we are preparing a multimedia interactive book and a video showcasing all the activities we conducted as part of the project.
